Our waiting room is quiet, warm and comfortable. We have water and snacks (and stickers!) for you while you wait.

A number of our counselors are trained in experiential therapies like expressive arts therapy, sandtray and somatic therapies. These modalities are evidence based therapies for common mental health issues like anxiety, depression and the effects of trauma.

Alabama Counseling and Wellness is a small private practice offering individualized care and evidence-based treatment for the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression and other issues related to mental health.

Our
Approach
to Therapy
Our approach to counseling prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment in the healing process. Rather than focusing only on current symptoms, we consider how past experiences shape a person’s emotional and psychological well-being.
Alabama Counseling & Wellness provides a comfortable, supportive environment that gives space for clients to regain power over their lives. We use Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems and other experiential therapies to help clients decrease anxiety, address intrusive thoughts, heal emotional distress and flashbacks of traumatic experiences. By integrating awareness, choice, and collaboration, trauma-informed care fosters genuine healing, allowing clients to rebuild trust in themselves and others.
